The world Health Organization has designated 2020 to be the year of the nurse and the midwife. Little did we know that a global pandemic would be a stark reminder of the vital role nurses play, resulting in appreciation to all health workers' efforts and act as a wake up call to help raise the profile of the profession.

"Historically, as well as today, nurses are at the forefront of fighting epidemics and pandemics, providing high quality and respectful treatment and care. They are often the first and sometimes the only health professional that people see. Accordingly, the quality of their initial assessment, care and treatment is vital." - WHO.
